Skills and Competencies

15+ years in insurance technology, underwriting analytics, or reinsurance digital transformation, including 5+ years leading product teams. 

Recognized industry presence — published, conference speaker, and/or committee/board participation required. 

Deep understanding of underwriting, pricing, E&S/MGA distribution, reinsurance placement, and ILS workflows. 

Strong technical acumen and platform product leadership: modular architecture, shared services, API frameworks. 

Proven track record driving platform modernization and multi-product ecosystem delivery. 

Experience with AI/ML enablement in risk or underwriting platforms preferred. 

Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Management with deep insurance industry authority and technical SaaS platform leadership to define and accelerate the future of underwriting, pricing, and placement across the global property & specialty insurance ecosystem. 

This individual will bring significant domain pedigree — recognized as a trusted voice in the insurance, reinsurance, and specialty risk community — with a strong record as: 

  • Published industry contributor (articles, research, thought leadership) 
  • Speaker or panelist at leading insurance & reinsurance conferences 
  • Active participant or leader within industry associations/committees (e.g., APCIA, RAA, NAPSLO/WSIA, CAS, Lloyd's market committees, InsurTech councils) 
  • Influential voice shaping innovation and modernization across the underwriting lifecycle 

In addition to industry leadership, this role will drive product strategy, platform modernization, and end-to-end delivery across solutions supporting primary & treaty underwriting, E&S/MGA workflows, reinsurance placement, and ILS pricing.

Key Responsibilities 

Industry Leadership & Market Influence 

  • Serve as a visible industry authority representing Moody's across global insurance, reinsurance, E&S/MGA, and ILS communities. 
  • Publish thought leadership and speak at top-tier industry events to advance market innovation and Moody's platform strategy. 
  • Engage deeply with Chief Underwriting Officers, CIOs, innovation leaders, brokers, reinsurers, and capital market partners to shape capability direction. 
  • Participate in committees, working groups, and advisory boards to influence industry standards and modernization. 

Platform & Architecture Leadership 

  • Define and drive the platform and cross-application architecture vision, ensuring interoperability and scalability across the Moody's risk ecosystem. 
  • Partner with platform engineering and architecture leaders to standardize APIs, shared services, and data contracts. 
  • Lead decisions on modular architecture, reusability frameworks, and shared components powering multiple products. 

Product Innovation & Technical Strategy 

  • Drive innovation leveraging AI/ML, pricing engines, exposure enrichment, digital placement, and portfolio analytics. 
  • Develop and validate new product concepts, emerging capabilities, and market-differentiating features. 
  • Champion experimentation and structured innovation frameworks (PoCs, accelerators, partner pilots). 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead and grow a team of product managers and platform strategists. 
  • Build a culture of technical excellence, client-centric thinking, and thoughtful execution. 
  • Set clear OKRs aligned to strategic business outcomes and platform transformation milestones. 

Cross-Application Execution & Delivery 

  • Oversee delivery of shared platform capabilities powering underwriting, pricing, and placement workflows across UnderwriteIQ, TreatyIQ, and ILS solutions. 
  • Ensure cohesive cross-product delivery and seamless user and data flow across applications. 
  • Guide prioritization, roadmaps, and execution frameworks across multiple product lines. 

Commercial & Business Impact 

  • Own adoption, retention, and product growth metrics. 
  • Partner with go-to-market leadership to define positioning, pricing, and commercialization frameworks. 
  • Expand capabilities into emerging and global markets including E&S, specialty, and capital-linked risk.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $208, $301,950.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
