Leasing Agent – Apartment Community

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Lafayette, LA

Full-time | On-site

$14.00 – $16.00 per hour

About the Role

Standard Enterprises has an immediate opening for a motivated Leasing Agent to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana. As the first point of contact for prospective residents, the Leasing Agent plays a vital role in creating a welcoming community while supporting daily office operations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys sales, customer service, and helping people find their next home in a professional, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and qualify prospective tenants with professionalism
  • Conduct telephone marketing and schedule property tours
  • Close leases and complete all necessary leasing paperwork
  • Process rental applications and ensure accuracy in files
  • Conduct follow-up calls with prospects and new residents
  • Accept and log resident work orders
  • Maintain accurate traffic reports and leasing records
  • Assist the team with office tasks and special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 1 year of experience in leasing, sales, or customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, Eviction Law, and Fair Housing preferred but not required
  • Ability to walk property grounds and climb stairs as needed
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable, insured automobile for errands such as banking

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour, based on experience
