As the Manager of External Communications and Thought Leadership, you will drive Randstad's external reputation and market positioning through a holistic strategy that integrates high-impact media relations, public relations, executive branding, and insight-driven thought leadership. This role is responsible for transforming our proprietary research and strategic partnerships into client-ready assets that deepen engagement, build brand authority, and fuel business growth.
What you get to do:
- Strategic Planning & Leadership Advisory: Develop and execute a cohesive external communications strategy for North America, primarily the U.S. market that aligns with overarching business goals. Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on market positioning, reputation management, and strategic messaging for external stakeholders, including clients, media, and industry partners.
- Media & Public Relations Strategy: Develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy to secure positive press coverage in top-tier outlets across key North American markets. Manage PR campaigns, cultivate journalist relationships, and serve as a key point of contact for media inquiries.
- Executive Branding & Visibility: Craft compelling executive keynotes, panel scripts, and thought leadership presentations for C-level leaders to position them as trusted voices in the market. Support the executive social media strategy, particularly on LinkedIn, to enhance personal branding and amplify company messaging.
- Thought Leadership & Sponsorships: Lead the development of high-impact content such as white papers, e-books, and research studies that position Randstad as an industry authority. Maximize the ROI of industry partnerships and sponsorships by embedding content, securing speaking opportunities, and driving media amplification.
- Client & Industry Events: Develop engaging agendas and content for executive roundtables, client webinars, and industry conferences that spark meaningful conversations and showcase Randstad's expertise.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Field Marketing, and Digital Marketing teams to integrate thought leadership content into client touchpoints, demand generation, and account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns.
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or a related field. A proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage, developing executive platforms, and creating insight-driven thought leadership is required.
- Proficiency using Google mail, calendaring and shared drives
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data and concepts into compelling narratives for executive and external audiences. Strong media relations acumen and established relationships with business or HR trade journalists are a plus.
- Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop and execute integrated communications plans that align with and drive business objectives.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills for advising senior executives and collaborating with marketing and sales teams.
