Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead and oversee maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of industrial mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, and programmable logic controllers. The ideal candidate will possess strong analysis skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused approach to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a background in industrial maintenance, electrical experience, and field service to contribute to our operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of complex machinery including hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, electrical systems (high and low voltage), and mechanical components.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule work orders, track maintenance history, and analyze equipment performance data.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues.
- Manage safety protocols related to high voltage systems, welding (including welding), scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment.
- Coordinate with technical sales teams for equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Supervise maintenance staff and field service technicians ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support for customer service inquiries related to equipment performance or repairs.
- Train team members on new technologies or procedures to improve overall maintenance capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial mechanic work within a manufacturing environment; prior leadership roles preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including industrial electrician experience with high voltage and low voltage applications.
- Strong background in hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding ( welding), schematics interpretation, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, analysis skills for diagnostics, and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with field service operations involving maintenance of manufacturing equipment in diverse environments.
- Ability to read technical schematics and perform complex analysis of machinery performance issues.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication in English.
- Military experience or background in industrial maintenance is considered an asset. This position is integral to maintaining the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our manufacturing operations through expert leadership in industrial maintenance practices.
