Our K-12 division is rapidly expanding and we are looking for a Food Service Specialist to provide guidance for school nutrition programs

Our Food Service Specialists serve a critical role in keeping our organization on the cutting edge of food service management by providing marketing leadership, menu development, employee training, and data analyzation to support our K-12 operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with, but not limited to district managers, corporate support staff, school nutrition directors, school administrators, local/state partners i.e., anti-hunger groups, state departments of education and agriculture
  • Responsible for successful placement of K-12 school nutrition marketing programs, promotions and menu development
  • Monitor school nutrition regulations to remain abreast of current events and issues
  • Accurately present information to clients and effectively respond to questions
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data that supports school nutrition programs
  • Ability to work across the organization to foster collaboration and ensure overall success of goals
  • Key team member on the opening team for new business, and leading units as needed
  • Establishes and builds relationships with new people especially in new business openings
  • Ability to write routine reports, correspondences, and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of corporate standards, policies, systems, and programs
  • Able to lead, train, and motivate FSD's and their teams
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field is preferred
  • Five years of experience in child nutrition
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other platforms
  • Public speaking skills with ability to develop, and deliver effective oral and written presentations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills used in standardization of recipes, grocery ordering
  • Daily/Weekly travel required with some weekends
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet the needs and expectations outlined in the contract
  • Strong training skills in food production/kitchen management and financial administrative management
  • Planning/time management skills in establishing priorities and work with minimal supervision and meets deadlines
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs
  • Profit/Loss understanding or ability to learn- inventory, labor, ect.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check
