Refugee Health Coordinator (Nashville)

Inspiritus' Refugee & Immigrant Services team provides support to individuals and families rebuilding their lives in the U.S., guiding them on a path from surviving to thriving. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, we provide quality services to newcomers in and around Savannah, Nashville, Birmingham, and Atlanta. Under the direction of the Refugee Services Program Manager, the Refugee Health Coordinator will lead the design and facilitation of culturally responsive wellness groups that promote emotional health, resilience, and social connectedness for newly arrived community members. This role draws on proven practices from other Inspiritus sites and collaborates with community partners to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed programming.

  • Located in: Nashville, TN
  • Work Environment: This is a hybrid position
  • Local travel is estimated at 15-20%.
  • Standard operating hours for Refugee Services is 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Exact starting and end hours can be discussed and adjusted with direct supervisor.
  • Annual Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead monthly wellness groups (e.g., men's groups, women's groups, soccer groups) that foster trust, peer support, and emotional wellness through culturally and linguistically tailored activities incorporating creative expression, discussion, and skill-building.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance programming, support outreach and enrollment, and strengthen client engagement.
  • Monitor participant progress through check-ins, assessments, and feedback loops; track attendance and outcomes to ensure compliance with TOR and ORR standards.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Refugee Health Outreach Specialist, including onboarding, professional development, and guidance on trauma-informed outreach, documentation standards, and culturally responsive engagement strategies.
  • Routinely assess outreach and wellness programming for compliance with national agency and federal funding requirements; develop training, tools, or service delivery improvements based on findings.
  • Monitor outreach documentation and RHS-15 screening records for accuracy and completeness, escalating issues to program leadership as needed.
  • Contribute to program monitoring and reporting activities, including financial and programmatic funder reports and proposals.
  • Forge mutually respectful partnerships with clients, co-workers, and partners with clear and maintained professional boundaries.
  • Participate in Inspiritus functions, training and conferences related to assigned programs.
  • Conform with and abides by all external regulations and laws that apply to their job duties as well as internal policies, procedures and instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in refugee services, mental health, wellness programming, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience facilitating group sessions
  • Comfort with trauma-informed care and creative facilitation methods
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment and providing culturally competent services.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience in art therapy, expressive arts, or community wellness
  • Preferred: Bilingual/Multi-lingual in refugee-spoken language(s)
  • Preferred: Experience coordinating or managing staff, interns, or volunteers in a social services or community health setting.
