Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the tax department, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the firm's financial and operational goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support for professional development.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact for key clients.
• Review and approve complex tax returns and filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant tax laws.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure quality control and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay updated on current tax legislation and industry trends, advising clients and the firm on potential impacts.
• Collaborate with other departments to offer comprehensive financial and tax planning services.
• Drive business development efforts, including identifying new service opportunities and expanding the client base.
• Prepare and present reports on department performance to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage department budgets and financial forecasts, optimizing resource allocation and cost-efficiency
• Ensure the implementation of best practices in tax compliance and advisory services across the firm.

Job Requirements

• Lead the strategic direction and daily operations of the Tax Division.
• Oversee client engagement, tax compliance, and consulting services for individuals, businesses, and entities.
• Partner with advisory firm leadership to align tax strategies with financial advisory offerings.
• Drive revenue growth through business development, partnerships, and process optimization.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals and administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and ethical standards.
• Lead technology adoption, workflow improvements, and quality control initiatives.
• Prepare and present performance metrics, forecasts, and strategic plans to executive leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
• CPA preferred.

Experience Preferred

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Experience in strategic planning and business development.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• High ethical standards and professionalism.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $180,000.00 per year
