Junior Dog Trainer

Academy Dog Training by Haywood is looking for one more trainer to join our team here in Silver Spring Maryland. We are looking for high character individuals to apply. We take pride in having a close knit team of high standard K9 Handlers that help bring families together through training. You will work with us in a balanced approach to dog training and educating their humans As a dog trainer, you will train our dogs basic and advanced obedience commands. Each applicant must be open-minded about all dog-training tools and different methodologies of training dogs.

Prior experience in dog industry highly preferred

Responsibilities and abilities will include:

• Working along side trainer in training daycare dogs
• Continuing education for conditioning/boarding dogs
• Learning our training system and pillars of success
• Achieve dog training goals by implementing a balanced approach to training
• Ensuring that each dog receive the highest quality of care and are maintained in a safe, clean, and secure environment
• Walking and caring for boarding dogs.
• Teaching and proofing basic obedience commands multiple times daily for each dog
• Strong ability to motivate and encourage self and others
• Assisting in Group Class
• Comfortable talking to new clients about training programs
• Problem-solving abilities
