Overview

The Marcel S. Garrigues Company is a provider of independent weighing, sampling, supervision, and inspections services for raw commodities with expertise in coffee, cocoa, and sugar. We are looking for hard-working, responsible candidates who enjoy fast paced, hands-on work to fill warehouse operative positions.

The basic role of a warehouse operative is to test and evaluate product samples to ensure quality and compliance with established standards, as well as weigh products for weighing certificates. Additionally, the warehouse operative will need to maintain professional conduct while collaborating with partners and clients.

Shift hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday – Friday, with occasional required weekend work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Test, measure and analyze products
  • Take samples for testing
  • Compare color, shape, texture, or grade of product
  • Pack and ship samples to customers
  • Weigh products and samples
  • Use moisture meters to test products
  • Perform inspections
  • Produce detailed reports
  • Report on abnormal results
  • Recommend corrective actions

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of successful, proven experience in quality control and administrative support.
  • Strong attention to detail and resourceful problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently both alone and as a team
  • Working knowledge of basic office systems and equipment (ie. Computers, printers, multiline phones)
  • Proficient in basic computer programs/apps (MS office suite, email, pdfs)
  • Basic mental math skills and understanding (averages, fractions, percentages)
  • Adept in time management skills and work prioritization
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 75 pounds

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour
