Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Intern (who is in school or newly graduated) to join our team. Interns who are in school are provided with an unpaid internship opportunity as this is a fieldwork placement. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in mental health to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others and eager to learn about various therapeutic approaches.

Duties

As a Mental Health Intern, you will be responsible for assisting our team of mental health professionals in providing quality care to our clients. Your duties will include:

  • Supporting therapists in conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Facilitating therapy sessions and facilitating activities that promote mental wellness.
  • Observing and documenting client progress and behaviors during inpatient stays.
  • Collaborating with staff on various projects related to child family counseling and mental health initiatives.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences:

  • Experience working with individuals with therapeutic needs or in family counseling settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with inpatient mental health environments and group therapy practices is beneficial.
  • Background in therapeutic modalities is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients of all ages, particularly children.
  • A genuine interest in mental health and a commitment to supporting individuals on their journey to wellness.
