Proteus Genomics is adding a Blood Chemistry Technician/Technologist to our growing blood chemistry department. This position will be working with clinical blood samples running on chemistry analyzers. We are seeking an independent individual available to work Monday - Friday shift, approximately 11pm-7:00 am. An ideal candidate will have at least 2 years specific experience in a similar laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use established lab protocol to perform laboratory tests and correctly log the results of those tests
  • Determine specimen validity within the first 20 minutes of receiving the specimen
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment
  • Verify all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen
  • Label and organize all tests appropriately to make sure that they are easily retrievable
  • Report to senior laboratory supervisors and assist in all tasks related to chemistry products
  • Assist with other laboratory and accessioning tasks as required

Qualifications

  • MLT, Bachelors in Biomedical sciences, chemistry, or biology
  • At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory chemistry department
  • Experience with Beckman-Coulter AU480 chemistry analyzer and Access 2 Immunoassay
  • Experience with Sysmex analyzers
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to follow biohazard guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to closely read instructions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $33.00 per hour
