Job Summary

We are seeking a Caregiver to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of seniors and people with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication, and other tasks that improve the client's living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, compassionate, and reliable and demonstrates exceptional cultural competence and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all resident personal hygiene needs and dressing, including showers, nail clipping, and incontinence care
  • Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises as needed
  • Serve as liaison between resident family/friends, clinical providers and visitors
  • Comply with nutritional needs of community by doing meal preparation and service, updating inventory and abiding by food prep guidelines
  • Maintain vigilance on-site at all times, documenting resident progress notes, and updating management on new developments
  • Prepare meals and snacks, and administer supplemental nutritional items as directed by manager
  • Perform thorough housekeeping activities in and out of the entire facility, including resident rooms, gazebo areas and entryways
  • Dispense medication, complete vital sign measurements and document medication passes per TX HHS guidelines
  • Exhibit demeanor of compassion working with disabled, while abiding by OSHA, HIPAA and all state guidelines
  • Assist with errands and shopping only under direction of the facility administrator
  • Comply with ESG initiatives of facility that foster a safe, clean, interactive environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred, for a minimum of one year
  • First aid and CPR-certified is required
  • Food Handlers Certification required
  • Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks, grooming tasks and cooking skills
  • Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
  • Ability to lift residents and items as needed
  • Compassionate, respectful, ethical work demeanor
