Title : Oracle Application Developer - On-Site- Very Urgent

Duration :- 12 months

Location:- Downtown, Houston.

MOI :- Skype + f2f

The candidate must be able to express to us and the Client ability to start day-1 on-site in Houston.

Duration of contract 12-24 months

We have a few screening questions which we will need to ask of your candidate via Teams and record their answers. This video will be submitted by us along with candidate information .

*WE PREFER LOCAL CANDIDATES WHO CAN INTERVIEW IN PERSON.

Here are some of the things we look for in a resume that will disqualify a candidate immediately,

We will definitely screen-out any candidate that relies on APEX in their assignments.

If they have not worked a full web based Oracle application

If they do not know what the application was being created for (the reason for the work)

Any reliance on Informatica or Cognos for ETL work, ETL should only be a small part of their work , not the bulk of their assignment.

*Any use of Oracle Forms and Reports.

*Candidates that have no experience with Python

They need to appreciate why an app was created and it's use , and be able to explain that during an interview. They have also failed in many cases by not answering the questions they were given by the Managers during an interview with direct answers. The Manager does not mind if a candidate has not had experience with certain aspects of their environment, but they will reject immediately any candidate that fabricates answers to their questions.

As mentioned, this has been a very difficult role to fill as many candidates have not or are not capable of developing applications on their own. The issue has been , most candidates have been from large implementations on a very large application ( Banking, Healthcare, etc.) This is not what EOG is doing as their web based applications are built for purpose and they run 60-70 of them at any time. Candidates must be able to individually handle development as well as support

Must have Skill Set

· Minimum of 8 years and maximum of 10 years of working experience in total

· Strong PL/SQL Development Skills

· Proficient in database development utilizing partitions, dbms jobs, packages, procedures, function and Oracle user defined types

· Strong SQL and PL/SQL tuning skills

· Data analysis skills to debug, trace, and fix performance problems

Preferred Skill Sets

· Familiarity with Oracle Exadata

· Familiarity with SingleStore/Mysql is a big plus

· Experience with Python, exposure to DB connect libs and others like requests, Json, pandas etc

· Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science

· Oil and Gas Industry experience

· Good written and oral communication skills
