Your seat at the table: Production Supervisor

In this seat you'll oversee all manufacturing activities within the assigned department(s). Responsible for maintaining quality and attaining production schedule. Ensures operation of the department within established lean principles and budget.

This seat reports to: Production Manager

More specifics about what this seat does:

· Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

· Takes an active role in the recruiting, onboarding, development, coaching and counseling, and progressive discipline of all employees.

· Adds input and provides the HR Department with updates and guidance relating to employees points, actively takes part in determining employee status of Fixed or Flex pay.

· Verify and hold employees accountable for safety issues, and the usage of proper PPE.

· Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

· Participates and coaches an environment that continually improves safety, production flow, machine utilization, and reduces total cost.

· In daily communications to employees utilizes and maintains visual communication tools to drive results.

· Attains production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; and monitoring progress.

· Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization's quality standards and specifications for products they produce. Utilize tools to help improve quality as established by the Quality Dept. Work in cross functional teams to resolve quality issues.

· Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs.

· Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employee to be compliant with established policies and procedures.

· Understands and abides by the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

· Works with HR to address and correct personnel issues.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Assist with other related duties as requested.

Requirements

We need this seat to have:

· High School graduate.

· A minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Must have at least 3-5 years supervisory experience

· Experience in a union environment desired

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Strong leadership skills.

· Good time management skills.

· Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

· PC Literate.
