Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Helper to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various shop operations, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires mechanical knowledge and experience with power tools, hand tools, and assembly line tasks. Responsibilities

  • Use the band saw for cutting a variety of different materials -steel, plastic, wood
  • Clean up chip pans from the manual machines
  • Moving parts around the shop properly
  • Organize extra stock for jobs
  • Arrange, stack and organize extra materials used for setting up and fixtures
  • Forklift experience required
  • Overhead crane experience desired
  • Follow and adhere to all safety precautions and policies
  • Sweeping floors, miscellaneous cleaning when needed
  • Deburring - use hand grinder a plus
  • CDL license to drive company vehicle
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or machine shop is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and assembly line processes.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely; certification is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks as needed.
  • CDL desired
  • Welder experience, a plus.
