Description

Xcite Automotive is seeking Automotive Painters for our dealership partners in Charleston/Columbia, South Carolina 

Job Description: The Automotive Painter will be responsible for prepping, painting, and finishing automotive panels and vehicles at both Charleston and Columbia-area locations. This is a mobile position requiring regular travel between the two regions. . The ideal candidate will have 5 of experience in Reconditioning Painting, with the ability to repair small dings, scratches, and minor repairs.

You will earn an annual salary of $65,000.00, pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality refinishing and reconditioning on dealership vehicles.
  • Repair small dings, scratches, and minor body damage to ensure a flawless finish.
  • Mix and match paint for color accuracy and seamless blending.
  • Apply primer, paint, and clear coat using proper techniques.
  • Follow safety and environmental regulations for paint application and disposal.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with service and reconditioning teams to meet quality and efficiency standards.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on automotive painting or collision repair experience.
  • Ability to mix and match paint colors and finishes.
  • Familiarity with paint booths, spray guns, sanding, priming, and masking techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices, including proper handling/disposal of chemicals.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred but not Required)
  • I-CAR, ASE, or manufacturer certifications in automotive refinishing.
  • Familiarity with waterborne paint systems and HVLP spray guns.
  • Experience working in a dealership or high-volume reconditioning center.
  • Knowledge of paintless dent repair (PDR) techniques.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Beneficial Types of Experience
  • Previous work in collision repair, body shops, or dealership paint/recon centers.
  • Experience with estimating and documenting paintwork.
  • Ability to mentor or train junior paint preppers.
  • Working knowledge of detailing, reconditioning, and related vehicle services.
