About the Job:
The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice is currently seeking a professional and dynamic Therapist Supervisor to provide oversight of mental health, sex offender treatment, aggression management, and/or substance abuse treatment delivery and effective clinical supervision of staff.
The Therapist Supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision to subordinate BSU staff; evidence-based treatment and assessment services to committed youth; and supervises the delivery of treatment services at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center. Delivery of direct clinical services may be in the forms of individual, group, and family psychotherapies. The individual selected for this role will also provide clinical supervision to BSU staff toward licensure, in keeping with relevant licensure standards.

The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice is currently seeking a professional and dynamic Therapist Supervisor. This role involves overseeing the delivery of mental health services, sex offender treatment, aggression management, and substance abuse treatment, as well as providing effective clinical supervision to staff.
The Therapist Supervisor will offer both clinical and administrative supervision to subordinate Behavioral Support Unit (BSU) staff. They will also provide evidence-based treatment and assessment services to committed youth and oversee the delivery of treatment services at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center. Direct clinical services may include individual, group, and family psychotherapy. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide clinical supervision to BSU staff to assist them in obtaining licensure, in accordance with relevant licensure standards.
This position is located at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center, which houses committed residents aged 14 to 20 years. The role requires working late evenings on a weekly basis, participating in an on-call rotation, and providing crisis intervention to residents.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of theory and evidenced-based practices with adolescent offenders. Knowledge of normal and abnormal adolescent development. Skills in individual, group, and family psychotherapy, ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team; ability to provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to work independently, ability to coordinate and supervise service delivery in the areas of aggression management, substance abuse, and/or sex offender services.
Additional Considerations
Certification as a sex offender treatment provider preferred. Clinical experience treating adolescents in a residential setting is preferred. Clinical and administrative supervision experience is preferred.
