Position Summary

The Senior Director of Physician Practices provides strategic and operational leadership for physician practices within the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute, part of the Orlando Health Medical Group (OHMG). This role is responsible for optimizing clinical and administrative operations, enhancing patient experience, supporting provider engagement, and ensuring financial performance. The Senior Director serves as the primary administrative liaison between the Digestive Health Institute and Orlando Health's hospitals and system leadership, fostering collaboration and alignment with institutional goals.

Essential Functions

• Designs and enforces internal controls to minimize financial risk and ensure organizational integrity.
• Oversees collaboration between clinical and administrative teams to develop policies, procedures, and systems that improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Assists the Chief Operating Officer in developing and executing strategic plans to support growth, profitability, and compliance across assigned practices.
• Leads the onboarding and operational integration of newly employed physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements related to fiscal management, human resources, healthcare administration, and corporate standards.
• Prepares and manages budgets, forecasts revenue and expenses, and aligns financial planning with organizational objectives.
• Demonstrates initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills in managing complex operational challenges.
• Analyzes data, prepares comprehensive reports, and interprets performance metrics to inform decision-making.
• Maintains effective relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and system stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication.
• Prepares and presents operational and strategic reports to senior leadership.
• Promotes a culture of exceptional customer service and teamwork across all Digestive Health practice locations.
• Maintains knowledge of managed care contracting and reimbursement processes, coordinating with internal departments to resolve payer-related issues.
• Serves as a liaison to the ambulatory surgery center team, providing daily operational guidance to support gastroenterology services.

Qualifications

Education

• • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• CMPE or FACMPE certification through the American College of Medical Practice Executives preferred.

Experience

• • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in a large, multi-site provider practice environment, ideally within gastroenterology or digestive health services.
• Proven ability to build strong physician partnerships and communicate effectively across clinical and administrative teams.
• Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams across multiple service areas.
• Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
• Proven experience in developing business plans and delivering strategic presentations to senior leadership and executive teams.
