Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Store Manager

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Shifts will be scheduled during Discovery Shop hours, Wednesday-Saturday 10am-5pm

The Junior League of Sioux City is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting voluntarism and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League Discovery Shop is our upscale nonprofit thrift boutique, where every purchase directly supports local community programs and initiatives.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused, and mission-driven individual to join our team as a Store Associate at the Junior League Discovery Shop. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming shopping experience, supporting store operations, and helping advance the Junior League's commitment to community service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service to shoppers and donors
  • Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and reconcile the register as needed
  • Accept, sort, and price donations in accordance with store guidelines
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking, and maintaining an organized and attractive sales floor
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the store and backroom areas
  • Work collaboratively with store staff, Junior League volunteers, and customers
  • Promote the mission of the Junior League of Sioux City through professional and positive engagement
  • Support special sales events, promotions, and seasonal displays as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous retail, customer service, or thrift store experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
  • Passion for community service, secondhand retail, or nonprofit work
