About the role:

Our Director of Finance is responsible for managing all financial aspects of inventory, including overseeing inventory accounting, establishing and refining policies, and analyzing COGS. This role involves close collaboration with operations and procurement to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs, while also providing strategic financial guidance to leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory accounting and control: Manage standard costing, adjustments, and month-end close processes. Lead full physical and cycle counts, investigating discrepancies and reconciling reserves, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
  • Financial analysis and reporting: Produce and deliver monthly and quarterly financial summaries, KPIs, and variance analyses. Review and ensure the accuracy of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
  • Strategic planning: Collaborate with operations and procurement to monitor usage trends and cost fluctuations.
  • Policy and process improvement: Establish, document, and refine inventory policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key strategic partner to executive leaders, providing financial expertise on financial strategies and risks.

Candidate requirements:

  • Proficiency in financial software, including Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Deep experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or supply chain management.
  • Relevant experience, often with a minimum of 5+ years in finance or accounting.
