What We're Looking For:
Recovery Support Professionals work directly with clients in our treatment programs and report to the Recovery Support Supervisor (or other deemed supervisor) at their facility. Your role is vital to the success of our clients in treatment. Your attention and focus help provide a structured environment that is critical in maintaining early recovery. You are their
lifeline
and their support. You help our clients maintain healthy boundaries and listen when they are struggling. Your energy, passion, and motivation are sometimes what keeps people from giving up on their treatment — and themselves.

  • Experience in direct support or caregiving roles preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication skills and a caring attitude

Recovery Support Professional Responsibilities
Recovery Support Professionals work directly with clients in our treatment programs and report to the Recovery Support Supervisor (or other deemed supervisor) at their facility. Your role is vital to the success of our clients in treatment. Your attention and focus help provide a structured environment that is critical in maintaining early recovery. You are their lifeline and their support. You help our clients maintain healthy boundaries and listen when they are struggling. Your energy, passion, and motivation are sometimes what keeps people from giving up on their treatment — and themselves.

Your Responsibilities In This Role May Include

  • Screen and process new admissions. Take head counts during hourly runs. Document hourly runs and client movement in communication log.
  • Screen clients' personal belongings upon entry to the facility, monitor client movement in and out of the facility, and account for their whereabouts. Maintain and monitor client sign-out book.
  • Coordinate in-house activities based on the program's schedule which could include chores, breaks, exercise time, leisure time and visitations.
  • Maintain accurate daily census, know where clients are on the floor, and report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff.
  • Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings as directed.
  • May need to transport or assist clients traveling to and from medical and/or other appointments.
  • Conduct and document room searches and perform random searches of clients as directed by program supervisor.
  • Deny access to unauthorized persons.
  • Supervise, where appropriate, clients taking their medications.
  • Perform regular room checks to make sure clients are on floors or in their rooms per program schedule.
  • Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences.
  • Monitor urinalysis/drug screening and breathalyzers as instructed by supervisor on duty.
  • Monitor daily program activities in addition to meals and medication line.
  • Tour the facility at regular intervals to check building security and ensure there are no fire or safety hazards in accordance with program and regulatory policies. Conduct fire drills and safety checks, including safety and security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers, first aid kits and Narcan availability.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and complete weekly vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and safety through the regular inspection of sanitation procedures, including pest control, the storage of supplies and clients' belongings, and submission of work orders for any needed repairs.
  • Ensure property maintenance related to inclement weather, including shoveling, salting, and de-icing walkways and vehicles, as directed.
  • Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
  • Those interested in applying for this role should be willing to work at least one evening shift per week, and a rotating weekend shift as needed (if working in a residential environment).

Qualifications For This Role
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or GED

Driving Requirements

  • This position requires that you have a valid driver's license in good standing and meet the following criteria.

  • Must currently possess a valid drivers license for at least 3 years.

  • Current status must be VALID, not SUSPENDED.
  • Not more than 2 moving violations or reportable accidents within the past three years.
  • NO DUI or accidents with fatalities within the past 5 years.

Availability

  • This position requires employees to have flexibility in their availability as scheduling/staffing needs may periodically change (based upon staffing needs). Gaudenzia is program that operates on a 24/7 basis.

Substitutions:
No substitutions for education and training. Successful completion of residential treatment program may be substituted for residential services experience (one month treatment = one month service).

  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems.
  • Basic knowledge of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to successfully work with others from various cultures and backgrounds.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
  • Ability to work various shifts.

Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook for email, as well as Word and Excel.
