The Breakdown:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and management of our Azure cloud infrastructure. This role requires expertise in data platforms, identity management, and DevOps practices within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

What You Get to Do:

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and security configurations. Monitor system performance and optimize resources for cost-effectiveness and reliability.

Data Platforms

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure SQL databases, including performance tuning, backup strategies, and high availability configurations
• Implement and manage Azure Databricks environments for advanced analytics and machine learning workloads
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient ETL/ELT processes
• Manage Azure Data Lake solutions for storing and processing large-scale structured and unstructured data
• Monitor data platform performance and implement optimization strategies

DevOps

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Implement version control best practices and branching strategies

Identity & Access Management

• Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for enterprise identity solutions
• Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions across cloud and on-premises applications
• Configure Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) policies and procedures
• Deploy and manage Azure AD Connect for hybrid identity scenarios
• Troubleshoot identity synchronization issues and authentication problems

Email & Collaboration

• Administer hosted Microsoft Exchange Online environments
• Manage mail flow, security policies, and compliance requirements
• Configure and maintain Exchange hybrid deployments
• Implement email security measures including anti-spam and anti-malware solutions

General Cloud Engineering

• Ensure cloud security best practices and compliance with organizational policies
• Manage Azure resource governance, including resource groups, subscriptions, and cost optimization
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based services
• Document architectural decisions, configurations, and operational procedures
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance in Azure

What You'll Bring to the Team:

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Strong expertise in Azure SQL Database administration and optimization
• Proven experience with Azure Databricks for data analytics and machine learning
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory for data integration and orchestration
• Experience designing and implementing Azure Data Lake architectures
• Solid understanding of Azure DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline development
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID administration
• Experience implementing SSO solutions and SSPR configurations
• Hands-on experience with Azure AD Connect deployment and management
• Proficiency in hosted Exchange Online administration

Additional Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Azure certifications preferred (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or similar)
• Experience with PowerShell, ARM templates, and automation scripting
• Knowledge of networking concepts including VNets, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Previous experience in a hybrid cloud environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• This is an on-site role, based in Burlington, VT. We will offer relocation assistance to move to Vermont to any candidate who is hired.

The hiring range for this role is $105,000-$120,000, depending on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, and available budget. Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include any potential bonus and other benefits that we offer.
