Job Description

As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in Longboat Key, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a strong, visible presence throughout the property. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to foster a secure environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are agile, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a dedicated team that values integrity and puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies while on patrol at the government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and surrounding perimeter to help to deter inappropriate activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control procedures and monitor entry and exit points as required by site protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities and assist first responders when appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of activities, incidents, and/or observations as required by site policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
