MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Security Engineer Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the security and integrity of the customer network.
Network Security Management: Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect network and information systems.
Firewall Administration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
Cloud Deployment: Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats, providing timely and effective resolutions.
Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational goals.
Continuous Monitoring: Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Collaboration: Work with other IT and security team members to design, implement, and maintain security frameworks.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of configurations, changes, and security incidents.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your cyber expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Security Engineer Senior must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Technical skills:
· In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.
· Strong experience with deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
· Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
· Proven experience with other security devices and platforms.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or AWS Certified Security - Specialty are a plus.
● Security clearance level: Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with network monitoring and security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS).
· Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
· Experience with scripting and automation tools.
· Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
