What you'll do
EducationQuest is seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to develop engaging print, digital, and social content that supports and elevates our communications and marketing initiatives. In this role, you'll write, edit, and produce materials including newsletters, articles, brochures, and presentations, while coordinating timelines, design, and production needs. You'll also help shape social media video concepts, manage content across various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), and assist in maintaining our website and other digital content. As a brand ambassador, you'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging, support marketing strategies, and contribute to promotional campaigns. You will also assist with stakeholder surveys, crisis communication planning, and coordinating public-facing events and projects.

What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience; a curious, self-directed, forward-thinking team player. Higher education experience is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and editing abilities to create clear, compelling, and brand-consistent content for diverse audiences.
- Strategic, research, and analytical skills to support integrated communication and marketing initiatives, evaluate audience engagement, and inform content and campaign decisions across multiple channels.
- Experience with social media platforms, digital content creation and distribution, multimedia tools, and content management systems, with knowledge of licensing requirements for digital assets.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, project management tools (e.g., Asana), and cloud-based technologies, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and digital tools.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong administrative and operational abilities, including composing and distributing communications, maintaining organized records, reviewing materials for accuracy and consistency, and ensuring efficient workflows.
- The position is based in our Lincoln office.
- Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
