We put the Field FirstThis posting remains open year-round as we are always looking for great people to join our team If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your application and we will reach out shortly.Summary:Responsible for the safe and successful completion of all arbor ground labor tasksEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform arbor ground labor tasks as instructed by Arbor Crew LeadDemonstrate ability to effectively work independently while on sit for extended periods of timeSafe operation of shredding and chipping equipment, including the feeding of brush and limbs into machinesSafe operation of arbor equipment, including but not limited to: loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, power saws, chainsaws, pole pruners, backpack blowers, and hand toolsHoist tools and equipment to tree trimmersClean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipmentCollect debris and refuse from tree trimming and removal operations into piles, using shovels, rakes, or other toolsClear sites, streets, and grounds of woody and herbaceous materials, suchas tree stumps and fallen trees and limbsLoad debris and refuse into trucksShows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting proceduresSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no full- time supervisory responsibilitiesSecondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesClimb and prune various tree types above heights of 15 feet when primary tree climber is unavailable or unable to do soPerform proper cabling and bracing functionsPerform specialized pruning and takedownsOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducationAt least six months of professional tree work experience Language SkillsAbility to communicate effectively with crew lead and other crew membersPhysical DemandsWorking ConditionsAbility to verbally understand and communicate in English is strongly preferredBi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not requiredMathematical SkillsNoneReasoning AbilityApply common sense understanding to carry out tasksDeal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variablesCertificates, Licenses and RegistrationsValid driver license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferredCurrent CPR & First Aid certification or have ability to obtain within 3 monthsCurrent aerial rescue certification or have ability to obtain within 3 monthsTCIA certified chipper operator specialist or have ability to obtain within 6 monthsTCIA chainsaw operator specialist or have ability to obtain within 6 monthsTCIA ground operation specialist or have ability to obtain within 6 monthsTCIA tree care safety specialist or ability to obtain within 6 monthsOther Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBasic tree care principals, pruning techniques, tree ID and disease IDAerial rescue; safe work practices; proper PPE; hazard recognition; DigAlert procedures and tree removal techniques; basic knots and rope operation for rigging; emergency tree rescue proceduresExcellent internal and external customer service skills, ensuring clients' needs are met in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion by demonstrating courtesy, efficiency, and professionalismThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
