Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Diesel Mechanic with basic mechanic tools to join our maintenance team. This role involves supporting the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment across various industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with a wide range of machinery are highly valued. Duties

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, and air brake systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, and brake repairs
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to execute repairs
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes for accurate troubleshooting
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed for repairs or modifications
  • Operate heavy equipment including tractor trailers and box trucks for testing or repair purposes.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of mechanical components during repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience with dealership service or heavy equipment repair is preferred
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, and air brakes
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
  • Experience operating tractor-trailers, or similar machinery is advantageous
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance procedures
  • Familiarity with fabrication techniques for custom parts or repairs
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments

This position requires a dedicated individual eager to develop their skills in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety standards.
