Position Qualifications:

Minimum

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling or related field and two (2) year's of experience in a social service setting. Positive attitude and openness to supporting people in crisis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling or related field and at least three (3) year's experience in a social service setting, preferably residential. Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Primary Functions:

· Conduct client intake interviews to determine client needs, and eligibility for services.

· Creating a safety/stabilization plan.

· Case management of client cases, including crisis intervention, assessments, and assisting clients to set appropriate goals or re-assess goals as needed.

· Makes emergency and non-emergency referrals to outside agencies and provides information regarding services in other agency programs.

· Staffing all cases with key staff including defining issues, eligibility for services, and identifying appropriate referrals.

· Communicates special concerns about clients to appropriate staff.

· Follow-up with client to assess plan implementation and provide additional support and/or referrals as needed.

· Communicate with clients and staff with a positive attitude and willingness to help.

· Enter client data entry into Osnium to assure complete and accurate records.

· Develop working relationships internally and with external agencies.

· Develop awareness of community resources available for referral purposes.

· Must be resourceful and have the ability to make decisions in a timely efficient manner using the training and guidance provided.

· Assist in the training of new staff, volunteers, and student interns.

· Implements and facilitates weekly support/life skills groups.

· Provide other services in crisis and emergency situations as requested or required.

· Increase awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault.

· Participates in case discussions and attends program staff meetings.

· Any other duties as assigned.
