Seeking a polished Medical Receptionist with hands-on experience in a medical office setting—handling high-volume patient check-ins, insurance verification, and EHR/EMR systems experience. We're looking for a detail-oriented, professional Front Office Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced Cardiology practice in Pasadena, CA. This is a 3-MONTH TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT, with potential for hire pending on position availability.

Medical Receptionist Position Highlights

  • Location: Pasadena, CA
  • Pay Rate: $20-$21/hr. (DOE)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends)

  • Job Type: Full-time, on-site, 3-MONTH TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT, with potential for hire pending on position availability.

Medical Receptionist Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process
  • Handle multi-line phones, route calls, and take accurate messages
  • Verify insurance eligibility (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medi-Cal)
  • Prep charts and update patient records in EHR/EMR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, etc.)
  • Schedule appointments, handle reminder calls, and manage front desk workflow
  • Provide patients with necessary forms and assist with front desk documentation
  • Maintain a clean, professional front office environment
  • Support back office and clinical staff when needed

Medical Receptionist Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of medical office front desk experience — retail or non-medical reception roles will not be considered
  • Prior experience in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Specialty Clinics strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, EMR software, and insurance plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume setting
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellent patient service
