Engineering Project Manager
with a background in engineering design and construction to join our Midwest engineering team. In this role, you'll lead project teams and foster long-term, strategic relationships with clients. You'll focus on complex engineering projects within the
energy

infrastructure

manufacturing

industrial
markets.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the owner's vision and requirements are successfully translated into clear, effective design and project delivery solutions. If you have experience managing large-scale projects and leading teams, we'd love to hear from you
In This Role You Will
- act as a key part of the project leadership team. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in enabling the success of the engineering team;
- collaborate with the Principal in the evaluation of project requirements and the owner to define complete project expectations. This will include defining key success factors driven from the customer which might focus on quality technical solutions, schedule constraints, and/or various funding conditions. All effort leading to help negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee and schedule;
- assist in developing discipline costs and work plan budgets for projects for scope which can include project drawings, specifications, schedules, and engineering studies;
- work with the principal to monitor project costs and completion status against budget schedules/timelines;
- engage with the project team for project cost management which would include valued engineering, life-cycle analysis, and any other technical estimating required to support client project funding justification;
- oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents, making sure they are accurate, signs or obtains signatures and seeks legal counsel as appropriate;
- coordinate review and evaluation of contractor bids and works with Principal so that award recommendation can be submitted to owner;
- provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assists with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature; and
- collaborate with Practice Group Leader as requested in the marketing of projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews.
You Will Need To Have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of experience minimum in the design of engineering systems
- Knowledge of current technology, building industry standards and all applicable codes, (city, state, federal)
- Working knowledge of building engineering systems
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge and ability in developing construction documents
- Ability to anticipate problems, critical issues/concerns, and new opportunities when they arise. Bring capacity to creatively problem solve to produce viable solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential with attention to detail
Salary Information
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary range: $102, ,800.
