Location:

This role requires travel throughout Denver County, including visits to clients' homes and Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs). Some sessions may also be conducted remotely. A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required.

Job Type:

1099 Independent Contractor (Paid Per Client) As a contractor, you'll manage your own taxes, benefits, and business expenses. Pay is provided per completed session.

Compensation:

$80–$150 per client/session depending on service type (individual, couples, family; remote or in-home).

Job Overview:

We're looking for a compassionate, mental health therapist to join our growing in-home therapy practice. In this flexible contractor role, you'll provide client-centered care to individuals, couples, or families in the comfort of their homes or care facilities.

This position is ideal for someone who is self-directed, relational, and motivated to support those navigating grief, trauma, aging, chronic illness/pain, and life transitions — especially individuals who may be isolated or unable to access traditional therapy settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the practice owner to determine client fit and availability.
  • Manage your own schedule, session logistics, and communication with clients.
  • Maintain clear documentation and submit billing using provided systems.
  • Deliver high-quality therapy in-home or remotely, with care tailored to each client.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards while working independently.
  • Communicate with families or other care providers when appropriate.
  • Help clients access some services in the community.
  • Use assessment tools like SLUMS, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado license: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPCC, or LSW.
  • 2–3 years of post-grad school experience; in-home therapy experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation within the service area.
  • Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Friendly, adaptable, and dependable.
  • Passion or experience in working with aging populations, trauma, grief, or chronic illness.

Preferred:

  • Background in client-centered, trauma-informed, or emotionally-focused therapy (e.g., EMDR, ART, EFT, CBT/DBT/ACT, Pain Reprocessing Therapy).
  • Experience in private practice, home-based therapy, or healthcare settings.
  • Experience with some case management.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant systems.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental presence.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong rapport-building and cultural sensitivity.
  • Technologically confident with scheduling, documentation, and billing.
  • Collaborative and communicative with the practice owner and referral sources.

Important Notes:

  • Medicare Opt-Out Required: As a private-pay practice, all clinicians must formally opt out of Medicare and agree not to bill Medicare-eligible clients. Guidance will be provided. This means you cannot currently accept Medicare at any other position you are currently holding.
  • No benefits are provided for this 1099 role.
  • Scheduling: This position will take time to build a caseload. This is ideal for someone who is looking for an hourly or part-time hours or willing to have patience to build a caseload.

Pay: $ $200.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
