Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director of Facilities to lead and oversee all aspects of facilities management within our organization. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of our physical infrastructure, including manufacturing plants, office spaces, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning abilities to maintain optimal operational conditions and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies aligned with organizational goals to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.
- Oversee maintenance operations across all facilities, including electrical systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), mechanical equipment, and industrial machinery.
- Manage maintenance schedules using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Supervise teams responsible for electrical work, mechanical repairs, industrial maintenance, and general upkeep; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Coordinate with project managers on facility upgrades, renovations, or new construction projects utilizing project management best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to high voltage, low voltage systems, and electrical standards; conduct regular inspections using tools such as ohmmeters and schematics for troubleshooting.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, schematics, system configurations, and incident reports to support audits and continuous improvement efforts.
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation systems management; troubleshoot control systems to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the management of facilities-related budgets, vendor relationships, procurement processes, and contract negotiations.
- Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and sustainability practices across all facilities.
Experience
- Proven management experience in facilities management within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Extensive supervisory experience leading multidisciplinary teams in maintenance or engineering roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems including high voltage (HV) and low voltage applications; familiarity with schematics is essential.
- Proficiency in using a work order management and maintenance tracking program.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair processes.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams accurately using tools like ohmmeters.
- Skilled in project management methodologies to oversee facility upgrades or expansion projects from conception through completion.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on supervising diverse teams while fostering a safety-first environment.
