About the Role

We are hiring a Live-In Lead Caregiver (Shift Supervisor) for our small, high-acuity Personal Care Home in Canton. Our residents require attentive, compassionate care, and we are looking for someone who can provide strong hands-on caregiving while also taking ownership of the shift.

This is a working leadership role, ideal for an experienced caregiver who is dependable, confident, and comfortable guiding others to ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality care.

Two-Week Trial Period

This role begins with a two-week paid trial period to ensure the position is a good fit for both the caregiver and the home.

Continuation in the Lead Caregiver role will be confirmed based on performance, communication, and leadership during shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on personal care (ADLs, toileting, transfers, comfort care)
  • Support higher-acuity residents (hospice level, mobility limitations, etc.)
  • Serve as the point person during your shift
  • Assign and oversee caregiver duties
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
  • Oversee light housekeeping and cleanliness of common areas
  • Ensure daily care routines (turning, checks, hygiene, safety) are completed
  • Communicate shift updates and concerns to leadership
  • Complete clear handoff for the next shift
  • Escalate concerns appropriately when needed

Live-In Housing Details (Please Read Carefully)

This position includes live-in accommodations during scheduled shifts only.

  • Housing is on-site

  • Shared common areas (kitchen and living space)
  • Utilities included

Important notes:

  • Housing is not private and not independent housing
  • Housing is provided to support shift coverage and rest periods
  • Professional behavior and respect for shared spaces is required
  • This role is best suited for candidates comfortable in a shared living environment

Qualifications

  • Prior caregiving experience required (personal care home, assisted living, hospice, or similar)
  • Experience with higher-acuity residents strongly preferred
  • Leadership or senior caregiver experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Reliable, calm under pressure, and professional
  • Comfortable guiding others and setting expectations
  • CNA or Med Tech experience a plus (not required)

Schedule & Compensation

  • 12-hour live-in shifts
  • Set schedule with 6 scheduled off days per month
  • $170 per shift (exact rate)
  • Pay reflects caregiving duties plus shift-level leadership
