About the Opportunity:
A rapidly expanding building automation and systems integration firm is seeking a skilled Controls Project Engineer for its San Diego office. The company is well-regarded for delivering sophisticated solutions to Class A commercial clients, government facilities, and institutional environments. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy coordinating engineering activities, reviewing submittals, and helping drive controls projects from design through closeout.
- Title: Controls Project Engineer
- Location: San Diego, CA
- Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 (DOE) + Bonus
- Status: Full-Time
- Assist Project Managers in planning, tracking, and executing BAS/controls projects
- Oversee schedules, budgets, documentation, and project deliverables
- Review, interpret, and validate DDC shop drawings and technical submittals
- Prepare and manage RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
- Coordinate with vendors and support material procurement efforts
- Experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or mechanical/electrical project engineering
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and specification review skills
- Excellent communicator capable of cross-functional coordination
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and construction workflows
- 50+ team members
