I am hiring aPhlebotomist for a compassionate and patient-focused OBGYN practice dedicated to providing high-quality women's healthcare in a supportive and welcoming environment. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and professional Phlebotomist to join my management team and play a vital role in the operation of my company.
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood and specimen samples from patients in a timely, safe, and accurate manner. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting with an emphasis on patient comfort and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages
- Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Maintain specimen integrity and follow proper handling procedures
- Ensure accurate patient identification and documentation in EMR
- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy supplies and inventory
- Follow infection control protocols and OSHA safety guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support daily patient flow
- Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients, especially those who are anxious or uncomfortable with blood draws
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Current and valid Phlebotomy Certification (CPT I or II preferred, based on state requirements)
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or outpatient setting (OBGYN experience is a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an OBGYN or women's health clinic
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday 10am-5pm
- No weekends or holidays (optional, depending on your practice)
