Role Description

This full-time on-site role for a Civil Engineer is located in Chesapeake, VA. The Civil Engineer will design, plan, and oversee infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage systems, utilities, and land development. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site studies, preparing project plans, performing calculations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The role also involves monitoring project progress to meet deadlines and budgets while delivering high-quality results that meet client and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong design and technical skills, including proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation)
  • Experience in project management tasks such as planning, budgeting, and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and permitting processes
  • Teamwork and collaboration abilities to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to develop efficient, innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interaction and report preparation
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; PE license preferred or the ability to obtain one
  • Proficiency with hydrology and geotechnical engineering concepts is a plus
