Job Overview

As an Automotive Service Manager, you will be the driving force behind our service department, ensuring that our customers receive top-notch automotive care while leading a dynamic team of service technicians. Your leadership will foster a culture of excellence, where customer satisfaction and operational efficiency go hand in hand. You'll leverage your expertise in automotive repair and service management to oversee daily operations, enhance service offerings, and drive sales through effective upselling strategies.

What you'll do

  • Lead and motivate a team of service technicians to deliver exceptional automotive services.
  • Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring timely and high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Implement effective upselling techniques to maximize revenue from services such as oil changes, brake repairs, and transmission work.
  • Utilize your mechanical knowledge to assist with complex automotive diagnostics and repairs.
  • Manage customer interactions with a focus on outstanding customer service and satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate auto estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all service operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash handling and sales transactions within the department.

Experience

  • Proven experience in auto service management within a dealership environment is essential.
  • Strong background in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance practices.
  • Experience in upselling automotive services and products effectively to customers.
  • Familiarity with various automotive repair tasks including diesel engine repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, and auto body repair.
  • Previous roles as a mechanic or service technician are highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
  • Proficiency in service writing and auto estimating processes is preferred.
