Responsibilities:

  • Keep children engaged if they are not involved in the curriculum activity
  • Assist lead teacher with activities/discipline
  • Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
  • Prepare and help clean up from snacks
  • Prepare any activities for later in the week (i.e. cutting things out, laminating, copying, etc)
  • Assist with toileting breaks
  • Fill in for a staff member when they may need to step out of a classroom for any reason (meetings, speaking to parents, working with children, etc)
  • Maintain daily open communication with parents
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Attend inservice and staff meetings
  • Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
  • Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
  • Passionate about working with children
  • Ability to build rapport with children
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour
