Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, managing appointment scheduling, and supporting the clinical team with administrative duties. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal handling, along with excellent communication skills to ensure a smooth flow of operations within our busy practice.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits
- Collect payments and process medical collections accurately
- Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and provide information about pet care services
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories in the database
- Assist with kennel management, including animal husbandry and pet care during visits
- Support laboratory procedures and assist with basic diagnostic tasks as needed
- Handle animal restraint safely during examinations or procedures
- Support veterinary staff with tasks such as animal catheterization, animal anatomy positioning, and aseptic techniques when required
- Assist in pet grooming or dog training activities if applicable
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of reception area and treatment spaces
Experience
- Prior veterinary experience is preferred, including familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory work
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices is essential
- Experience with dog handling, animal husbandry, kennel management, and pet grooming is advantageous
- Previous experience in veterinary field are highly desirable
- Previous experience with EZYVet software is highly desirable
