5G Core Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 5G Core Network Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and deployment of next-generation core network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in 3GPP standards and protocols, with a focus on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement 5G core network solutions, including SA, NSA, and 4G integration
- Configure and manage containerized core network functions (MME, SGW, HSS, PCRF, PGW)
- Deploy and maintain IPX (IP Exchange) systems to support seamless data exchange across operators
- Configure and optimize roaming protocols (S6a, S5, S8, GTP) for enterprise subscriber mobility
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate core with RAN, SD-WAN, and other network components
- Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization to meet scalability targets
- Monitor network health, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
- Stay current with emerging technologies including network slicing, edge computing, and NFV
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in cellular core network architecture and design
- Deep understanding of 3GPP protocols for 5G (NG-RAN, AMF, SMF, UPF) and 4G (MME, SGW, PGW)
- Proven track record in deploying and managing 5G core infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with IPX integration and roaming protocol configuration
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Experience working with GSMA documentation (IR.21) and RAEX tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps)
- Proficiency in network performance monitoring and optimization tools
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices
