Accounts Receivable (AR) Associate

Overview:

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for managing customer billing, payment processing, collections, and reconciliation to ensure the company maintains strong cash flow and accurate financial records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to resolving payment discrepancies and improving receivables processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process
    customer invoices
    accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor and manage the
    accounts receivable ledger
    to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Perform
    cash application
    of customer payments, ensuring proper allocation to invoices.
  • Reconcile
    AR sub-ledger to the general ledger
    monthly.
  • Research and resolve
    billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer disputes
    promptly.
  • Generate and distribute
    aging reports
    , highlighting overdue accounts and potential risks.
  • Work closely with the
    sales and customer service teams
    to address credit and billing issues.
  • Support the
    month-end close process
    by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with
    audit requests
    , ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Recommend and implement
    process improvements
    to enhance efficiency in billing and collections.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in
    Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
    (preferred).
  • 2+ years of
    accounts receivable or general accounting experience
    , ideally in a manufacturing or corporate environment.
  • Strong proficiency in
    Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
    (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent
    communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
    .
  • High level of
    accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
    .
