Overview:

We are seeking professionals with high levels of integrity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to safety and security to join TorchStone Global's team as Executive Protection Agents (EP) on a full-time and/or part-time basis. The EP agents will be responsible for the welfare, physical protection, and security of designated clients' estates and home offices. Positions are available in the Santa Barbara, California area.

Executive Protection Agent Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for client and family safety providing close protection and security for the client during domestic and/or international assignments.
  • Responsible for client and family safety, as well as safeguarding client assets and estate or RST work, as needed.
  • Perform protective advance planning, counter surveillance operations and threat vulnerability assessments.
  • Transport the client and/or family members to events and appointments.
  • Clear communication and coordination with the security team, client liaison and TorchStone leadership regarding vulnerabilities or safety concerns.
  • Effective incident and emergency response.
  • Complete suspicious activity reports, incident reports. shift logs, pattern of life reports, and other administrative requirements.
  • Operate and maintain protective, operations, and communications equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining prepared vehicles to support client operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5 years of verifiable, relevant EP and/or RST experience minimum, excess of 10 years preferred which includes advance planning, surveillance, counter surveillance operations and security driving for high net-worth clients.
  • Current BSIS Guard Card.
  • Current BSIS Exposed Firearm certification.
  • Current California CCW or LEOSA qualification.
  • Current California driver's license and US passport.
  • Current First Aid/CPR and AED training certifications.
  • Consent to, and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and agreement to a non-disclosure agreement and privacy policies for both TorchStone and the client.
  • Resident of California and willing to commute to the client's location.

  • Full time and/or Part time: 12-hour shifts (preferred commitment of 3-6 scheduled shifts per month for part-time candidates)

  • Basic computer and time-keeping skills.

Physical Fitness Requirement:

This position requires a high level of physical readiness and the ability to perform essential job functions in dynamic, high-pressure environments. Candidates must be able to safely and effectively carry out duties that may include:

  • Sustained mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and run/move quickly for extended periods during protective details, venue sweeps, and client movements.
  • Rapid response capability: Ability to sprint short distances, change direction quickly, and react immediately in emergency or threat scenarios.
  • Strength and stability: Ability to lift, carry, or assist with the movement of individuals or equipment (typically up to 50 lbs) during emergency evacuations or protective maneuvers.
  • Situational endurance: Ability to operate in various environments—urban, rural, indoor, outdoor—and tolerate long hours, variable weather, and irregular schedules.
  • Defensive skills readiness: Ability to perform defensive tactics, maintain balance, and manage physical encounters if necessary to protect the client or evacuate from danger.
