Porter and Chester Institute is currently seeking Nursing instructors for immediate placement to cover both clinical and classroom instruction. With campuses in Hamden, Bridgeport, and Waterbury, clinical sites are located throughout the state to facilitate convenient instructor placement. Candidates must be flexible with classroom and clinical instruction for all program coverage needs. Our Nursing Instructors are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair assessment of learning, clear documentation of student progress, and support of the academic success for all students.

No teaching experience required. Training will be provided.

Position Requirements:

  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a COVID-19 Booster Shot 
  • Current valid Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience as a licensed RN required, recent experience preferred
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and willing to pursue Master's Degree in Nursing or related field within 4 years of hire date; or currently hold an MSN or Master's in related field with BSN required
  • Ability to use common software programs (MS Word/Excel/Outlook etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
