Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement and Marketing and in accordance with the purpose, policies, and principles of the YMCA of Central New Mexico, The Graphics & Promotional Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the YMCA's mission through creative design and community engagement. This position combines graphic design expertise with hands-on outreach to promote YMCA programs, events, and membership growth. The ideal candidate will be both a talented visual communicator and an enthusiastic ambassador who enjoys engaging with people and building community relationships.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Marketing
• Design visually engaging marketing materials including flyers, banners, digital ads,social media graphics, and print collateral that align with YMCA brand standards.
• Capture and edit photo and video content for use on social media, website, and digitalcampaigns.
• Create and schedule posts across YMCA social media platforms to promote programs,events, and impact stories.
• Utilize Canva and Adobe Photoshop (with knowledge of Illustrator, Premiere Pro, orsimilar tools a plus) to produce professional-quality assets for print and digital use.
• Collaborate with staff and program directors to generate meaningful content thathighlights member stories, staff achievements, and community impact.Promotions & Community Engagement
• Canvas nearby neighborhoods and local businesses to distribute materials, encouragepartnerships, and increase awareness of YMCA programs and services.
• Host and staff YMCA pop-up booths, fairs, and community events to engage the publicand invite them to become members.
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and localpartners to expand promotional reach.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, communicating the YMCA's mission of youthdevelopment, healthy living, and social responsibility in all interactions.Collaboration & Administrative Support
• Coordinate with the marketing and membership teams to ensure consistent messagingand branding across all channels.
• Track outreach activities, social engagement, and campaign results to report measurableoutcomes.
• Assist with planning and execution of YMCA events, campaigns, and special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


• Minimum 1 year of experience in graphic design or marketing production.
• Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop (Illustrator and InDesign experience a plus).
• Strong eye for design, typography, and layout composition.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking with individualsand groups.
• Outgoing personality with the ability to represent the YMCA mission and values in thecommunity.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and auto insurance to travel tolocal outreach sites.
• Possess a positive and professional attitude.
• Be familiar with the mission statement and core values of the YMCA. Model the corevalues while working and communicating with other staff.
• A willingness to commit to the mission of the YMCA.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinarysituations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
