The Winn Area Activity Center (WAAC) is a state-licensed non-profit childcare organization dedicated to providing high quality, safe, and fun programming for preschool and elementary aged children.

Summary

We are seeking an assistant to join our team in Shepherd. This person will generally work with our preschool population and work alongside lead & associate teachers. We follow the Shepherd Public Schools calendar and daily work will be from either 7:30-3:30 pm or 9:30-5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the childcare programming.
  • Productive and positive communication with program families.
  • Ability to work on a teaching and childcare team.
  • Ability to understand state licensing and GSRP guidelines.
  • Maintain positive relationships with public school personnel.
  • Assist in effectively managing behaviors.
  • Physically able to interact with children- playing on the floor, playing games outside, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a licensed facility is preferred.
  • Productive communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children and parents.
