Wage: $13 - $18 per hour dependant on experience

We are looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team and make a difference in the lives of pets every day

• Animal restraint experience
• Kennel or doggy daycare experience
• A "go-getter" attitude
• Positive, open to feedback, and excited to grow in vet med
• Ability to work with dogs and cats

Tentative Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week: 7 AM – 6 PM (with an hour lunch break )
• Every other Saturday, with potential for shorter shifts on non-Saturday weeks
• No Sunday hours – enjoy your weekend off

Position Skills:

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
• High quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Position Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED certificate 
• Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
• Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
• Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Pay range of $16-$18/hour based on experience
