Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Candidates with demonstrated expertise and strong research potential in the mechanics of soft and emerging materials, AI-guided material design, surface/interface tuning and mechanical analysis, mechanics under extreme conditions, durability and damage mechanics, are invited to apply. In addition to a clear research focus, successful applicants are expected to develop and sustain a significant, national recognized and externally funded research program that includes a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, mentorship of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. Applicants are expected to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses, participate in assigned department and university duties, and demonstrate leadership in relevant professional and technical societies. A competitive salary and research startup funds are available for this position.

Required Qualifications
The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start date. Postdoctoral or industry research experience is desirable.
