The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
Corebridge Financial systems team requires an Application developer in their Investments vertical for the Software Design, Development and support of various applications and tools used by Investments and Capital Market business team.
This role will assume Application development and support ownership for one or more of Investments systems. Responsibilities include oversight of high- and low-level solution design, liaising with multiple teams to troubleshoot production incidents, identifying opportunities to deliver technology improvements in systems and initiate work to do so where cost-benefit is justified and ensuring solutions meet functional and technical requirements as measured by ongoing maintenance, cost, performance, scalability, and compliance with technology standards.
Successful candidates should be self-driven, able to work with minimum supervision and have extensive experience in developing .NET based solutions using C#, ASP.NET and technologies like WPF, WCF, multi-threading, web services, ideally in the financial industry
Responsibilities
2+ years' experience developing .NET based solutions using C#, ASP.NET and technologies like WPF, WCF, multi-threading, web services, ideally in the financial industry.
Analyze business requirements, propose, design and implement technical solutions
Participate in development of Investments Data Warehouse and user interface.
Proficiencies with Agile development practice a must as is the ability to check code.
Experience with and strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence technologies.
Experience in the DevOps tool chain would be advantageous
Work effectively with the infrastructure architects and DBA teams to ensure that all approved development and deployment procedures are followed.
Provide production support from development teams for existing systems, troubleshoot data and/or system issues
Good knowledge of PL/SQL and SQL queries on Oracle 11g database. Understanding of Oracle database and experience working with sql, stored procedures, functions
Position is for a highly motivated individual who will be an application developer in a strong .NET development team focused on using leading edge .NET technologies to develop business solutions specific applications.
Candidate will be part of a team responsible for on-going development of applications which integrate with multiple systems.
Hands-on working experience with GitHub and knowledge of CI/CD is desired.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of 2-3 years of application development, preferably in financial services.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
Experience developing large scale systems
Experience in one or more structured programming languages (C++, C#/.Net, PL/SQL, etc.)
Experience developing interfaces to Oracle or other SQL-based databases
Experience working in controlled development, testing and production environments
Experience using Agile-based methodologies (such as Extreme Programming and Scrum) within a software development function
Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, ETL processing
Familiarity with standard development toolkits including source repositories (GitHub), SQL interpreters (TOAD), IDEs (.Net), etc.
Sound understanding of RDBMS
Basic understanding of finance, fixed income securities and derivatives desired but not necessary
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
Aptitude for debugging problems in complex, unfamiliar code
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $104,000 for the Norwalk, CT region at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial's Houston, TX or Norwalk, CT office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
