SMaRT Health & Wellness is a premier musculoskeletal health and wellness center located in Aliso Viejo, California. We integrate traditional medical care with innovative wellness practices, offering services such as orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, yoga, and acupuncture. Our mission is to help our community live healthier, more active lives.

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient orthopedic team. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients in exercises and therapeutic activities, and help them progress toward their functional goals. This role requires strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities
  • Monitor and document patient progress in the EMR system
  • Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient status
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapy Aides and other team members
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care coordination
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current California PTA license
  • Experience in orthopedic outpatient settings preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs (email, Excel, Google Docs)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Reports To:

  • Directly reports to the Therapy Director
  • Indirect oversight from SMaRT Partners and leadership

Pay: $ $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
