Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Dental Laboratory Support Technician to join our dynamic dental team. This role involves supporting dental laboratory operations, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental fabrication, medical imaging, and dental terminology, along with experience in laboratory procedures and patient assessment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care and laboratory services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with chairside procedures, including patient preparation and support during dental treatments
  • Operate and maintain EMR systems for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping
  • Support dental fabrication processes, including working with CAD/CAM technologies and micrometers for precise measurements
  • Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, maintaining aseptic techniques throughout procedures
  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history documentation
  • Aid in the preparation of medical imaging and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with dental office tasks such as scheduling, patient check-in/out, and managing medical coding for billing purposes
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment adhering to infection control standards
  • Support pediatric patients by applying specialized techniques suitable for children's dental needs
  • Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure accurate fabrication of dental prosthetics and restorations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dental assisting, laboratory work, or related healthcare fields
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms
  • Experience with CAD/CAM technology and dental fabrication processes is preferred
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
  • Ability to interpret medical imaging and perform precise measurements using micrometers
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record management
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
  • Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous
